Welcome to Bluemania Maine Coons!  We are a small in-home cattery showing and breeding these beautiful “gentle giants” since 2004.  Our cattery is registered with Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) and The International Cat Association (TICA).  We show our cats most often in TICA, but occasionally show in CFA as well.  We are home to several Supreme Grand Champions, Regional Winners and an International Winner.  All our cats are part of the family and raised underfoot.  They love to “help” with all household chores.  Our mission is to breed and raise healthy, happy Maine Coons that will live long, prosperous lives with their new families.  Our breeding cats are DNA- negative for the one known mutation known to cause Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM).  HCM is a hereditary disease known to affect Maine Coons.  Additionally, our breeding cats receive annual echocardiograms to screen for the presence of HCM.  Although DNA testing and regular heart screenings help reduce the incidence of HCM, it does not guarantee a cat will never develop HCM.

 

Kittens are born in the nursery and stay secluded with Mom until about 8 weeks of age.  During this bonding time with Mom, kittens are litter boxed trained, begin to eat wet and dry food, and are introduced to the scratching post.  After 8 weeks, the kittens join our “general population” and have free roam of the house.  During this time, they get accustomed to the usual sounds of the household, and become more social with the humans around the house.                                          Hope & her boys (2009)

 

 

We sell our kittens to approved buyers as pets only for $700.00. We do not sell our cats with breeding rights.  We do not ship- as we prefer to meet potential buyers in person before placement.  Kittens are vaccinated and have received deworming medication prior to placement.  Kittens are ready for their new homes by 12-14 weeks of age.  They are vet-checked and come with a health guarantee.  We have a spay/neuter contract, indoor-only, and no-declaw clause. Each one of our kitties are like our real human children to us.  Therefore, it is very important to us that each kitty goes to a forever home in which they will receive the love and attention these beautiful and majestic cats deserve.
